Who We Are
Project Rise with Dr. Helen is a leadership development program designed to help women between the ages of 25-55 restart, pivot, or accelerate their careers through project management as a tool for leadership success. We are a nonprofit organization (pending 501(c)(3) approval) dedicated to providing high-quality training, mentorship, and job placement to ensure career sustainability and advancement.
We are not just a training provider. We are building a pipeline of highly skilled project managers ready to lead and succeed.
Why Project Management?
Project management is a highly transferable leadership skill that applies to every industry—IT, healthcare, finance, construction, government, and beyond. Leading projects build problem-solving, strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and decision-making skills—all essential for leadership.
Why We Exist
Our founder, Dr. Helen Uzamere, has experienced firsthand the challenges of navigating leadership as a woman of color. Despite being highly skilled and sitting at leadership tables, she found herself repeatedly pushed out—not due to performance, but due to systemic barriers and lack of support.
Project Rise exists to change this reality for other women. We equip them with the training, mentorship, and employer connections needed to get hired and stay and thrive in leadership roles.
